Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Initial Consult
Tam’s journey into Chinese medicine began as an EMT in a busy trauma ER. He quickly witnessed the limits of conventional medicine where symptoms were managed, but root causes were often ignored. This drove him to Chinese medicine, recognizing that comprehensive healing integrates both Eastern Medicine for prevention and well-being with Western acute care or surgical intervention. Building on this understanding, Tam established a strong educational foundation:
- Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at New England School of Acupuncture
- NCCAOM board-certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
His approach guides patients to take an active role in their health. Tam provides support that is customized for your care while being honest and straightforward.
Having personally navigated challenges with digestive health (specifically chronic constipation) since undergrad, this has become a key area of his expertise and passion. He also understands the widespread mental health concerns affecting his generation and is equally dedicated to providing support in this vital area. Call him the gut and brain expert!
Tam is ready to help the West Hartford, CT, community, especially those tired of conventional approaches or who have exhausted other options. If you’re ready to explore a proven, effective path to health, his practice offers late hours and weekend appointments. He is easily accessible by phone, email, or text.

Origin of The Eight Gates
'The Eight Gates' is inspired by the I Ching (ee-jing), an ancient Chinese text. The 'gates' refer to the eight trigrams, which are fundamental symbols in the I Ching. If you look at the logo on The Eight Gates website, you can see these trigrams represented by the three 'E's. These trigrams symbolize different aspects of life and the natural world. In Chinese Medicine, they can be seen as representing different pathways to healing and balance.
